I bought our stick as a first introduction to the Roku line (having a TV that has apps and another brand of streaming box).
The UI is decent, although not earth shattering. The selection of channels is awesome and definitely the high point of this particular line of devices. The price is good if not great, but the one thing holding this particular device back is the under-powered processor.
I've literally hit a button 5 times without a result only to have the device catch up and start flipping back and forth about 10 seconds later. Once I've found the channel I want and I'm watching something, the streaming is great. But the UI interaction is annoying at best and downright painful more than often.
So to summarize. Great streaming. Good price. Awesome number of channels. Terrible lag with UI. If they bump up the processor slightly or dumb-down the graphics on the UI to fit the device, then I'd move it up a star or two. All in all I'd recommend it, but with the knowledge that you should expect a decent amount of UI lag.

Many channel options

Let me first start by saying I like my Roku. The stick itself works flawlessly and their are so many channels to choose from. It did take awhile to set up - I had to manually connect with my IP vs just syncing with ease, but I've had that issue plenty of times with other devices at my house. I also dislike the monotony of having to search letter by letter instead of being able to type things in. The app seems like it would be a great spot for that! YouTube is the only channel that seems to be semi buggy at times. And there are lots of hidden fun channels like GOATS LIVE TV! Download it now!
What I don't like is the issues with the remote. After only 4 months of use my Roku remote stopped working. Customer service was tough to deal with unless I was at home so I switched to the app. The app isn't perfect but it is nice because you can search by move, show, actor, free, etc. and it will tell you what channel you can find it on for what price. Great. But it frequently times out. Also, when my internet went down and I tried restarting my Roku stick I could not re-sync my phone app without the remote.
So, I got online and asked for customer service help. They spent 45 minutes asking me the run-of-the-mill service Q's before just sending me a new one. So that was very nice.
All in all, I am satisfied. I do wish there was a better remote situation out there though.

Being on a limited budget, I had to make some hard choices on home entertainment. My Roku Streaming Stick fits perfectly into my plan. It has all the channels I want, plus hundreds of others I didn't know about. I can choose between first-run TV and movies, or reruns of classics. All for a reasonable, manageable cost. Roku is a great investment for anyone.

We have a Roku 3 in our living room and decided we wanted one for our bedroom. When we went to purchase them we came across the Roku stick and decided to try it (because of price and we mainly only wanted it for Netflix) and we ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!

The hardest part of roku is the set up. That's because we were expecting a plug in and go. It's fairly easy once you follow directions.

Nice alternative to box streaming devices

I have a Roku 3 for our main viewing area and it works great. I wanted to add a streaming device to another room but space was limited. I picked up the Roku stick and am very pleased. It performs just as well as the Roku 3 in my experience.
