My PS3 broke on me after 4 years and I needed something to be able to use my netflix, as long as you have an HDMI tv then this will work, so I used it for my netflix and found many more shows for free like QVC, and HSN, which I love. It's a cute little device and easily portable. The only downside with every roku I they don't shut off, if you want to turn it off then you have you unplug it. But other than that its great.
I bought the Roku stick as an addition to our RV. I am able to plug it into the HDTV, stream using WiFi (or if not available - using my smartphone(s) as a Hotspot) and via the SlingBox app, watch and control my TV from home, all while on the road! Of course, I can also stream content from all the popular services such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc....
I have been a Roku owner for years and have been very happy with them! Great channel selection, intelligent and easy user interface and great picture and sound! The Roku Stick carries on that fine tradition in a tiny, convenient, easy package!
Wouldn't connect to my network and support was virtually non-existent. Finally figured out that I needed to set a DHCP reservation with the Roku Stick MAC address in my router. Internet search revealed this is actually a common problem but the solution took quite a while to find. Support people on the phone don't seem to know anything about the product at all.
