The remote goes through batteries every other day

I'm happy with the stick and the program and service but the remote goes through batteries every other day when I spoke to tech support I was told to point the remote away and upside down from the stick when not using it. It seems to be working but to me this is a defect.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We use the Roku everyday, instead of cable. Kids were able to use it easily. Happy with content options

I actually have 2 of these. However, after about 6 months the first one I bought will no longer respond to the remote control which renders it useless. I hope I get more use out of the second one.

I Understand why my daughter doesn't have cable

This was one of the best birthday gifts I've received in years! So many choices! So many free choices! If I wasn't tied to my cable co by contract, I'd cut it loose.
The only quibble I have is that some of the app load time is slower than I like. But that's minor compared to the options I have. And there's the main plus of the Roku system, options.

I love how easy it was to set-up the Roku Streaming stick, especially b/c I'm not tech savvy! I really like all of the features it has to offer. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.
