I bought our first Roku a month ago and have never been more happier watching tv! It is easy to install and use. Since this first purchase, we have ordered two more streaming sticks. One for another tv in our home and one for a gift for our daughter. So happy that we decided to get rid of the boring and over priced local cable. Hats off to the Roku team! You people are amazing and so are your products!
I've been using it for a while on my second TV, since I bought a new Samsung Smart TV and wanted to have a better user experience on the old TV. The Streaming Stick does work, but it seem kind of old in terms of user interface and usability. Also it fills slow. I would've expect it to be a lot faster.
I currently have an older Roku model - I purchased this to upgrade from my current model and take advantage of some of the recent upgrades Roku has put into the product. First of all, the streaming stick was VERY unresponsive to the associated control. Using my phone control, it worked ok, but still wasn't very responsive. Second, it only worked intermittently. I unplugged, reset, and did every other thing possible to reset the stick, and it continued with the same problems. Finally, when I attempted to sync the stick with my existing account to download my channels, it took several hours, without success. I re-tried 3 different times, with the same result. I finally switched back to my older model, which still works ok, but I'd still like an upgrade - I just don't think this is it.
I have the roku3 and love it. I bought the stick for another tv and it takes about a minute to pull up to allow a show to be watched. If you are deciding which to by, get the ruku 3 or 4 instead of the stick
Screen look is different than my Roku 2 but that is no issue. I really do not use this as much as my Roku 2 - bought it for a bedroom TV and wifi is not strong there. Only complaint is that the stick is loose in the slot and It would be a problem in a more active place in my home (where furniture is bumped, etc). Nice to have one less thing on my TV table though and will probably replace my Roko2 with a stick if and when it ever dies. (I do not know if it is CBS or Roku issue, but I am always having loading issues with that channel - going to drop it if it does not improve - do not need to use over an hour reloading and resuming to watch a 45 min show)
