This is my third Roku device for our second home where we have a very limited cable/tv programming package. A Roku is the perfect device for a home with Internet and wants to add some interesting and free channels.
Plug it in and your in business right away. Take it on vacation and all your favorite content goes with in one little package, but you need an HDMI port on the TV so forget it if you stay in most budget Hotels/Motels
I have 200 channels loaded. Streams fine with 100 MB internet. I have 5 Roku 3's to compare it to. There is a little lag in the remote when you press a button, but it is not to bad. The picture quality is excellent. I haven't had any buffering issues with any of the channels. You can't beat the price.
I travel with my job and bought this device to give me more viewing options while in the Extended Stay. Overall, good product. I'm confident I would say "Great!" were I using it at home. Being that Extended Stays operate on a shared network, there are a few hiccups. To set-up the Roku, you must first go through Extended Stays help desk as they enter the Wi-Fi password remotely. This has to be done each month if you're staying longer than a month. In addition, I've had to live chat Roku support to really get it fully set up. EACH AND EVERY TIME. I've spent 3 months in my current location and have spent approximately 2 hours each month for set-up. I also find that during certain shows, there is constant interruption while it "retrieves" the show. Keep in mind, I have a very specific scenario being that I'm using it in a hotel, but have heard other devices have fewer problems.
