I love the roku, but the only problem is I live near an international airport and when planes fly over low their radio frequency knocks it off, or freezes, so best time to watch the movies and shows is during the day when planes aren't flying low, other then that, I love it had Hallmark Channel
This was a birthday present. Though, I am sure it is great if you can pay for subscriptions, but the few free channels I was interested in had nothing to them. I was a bit disappointed about that.
I do not like it because with the slightest bump or pressure within plugging it into tv, the part that plugs into tv messed up completely. It's connection is difficult to keep for it will not stay snug into place :'(
I bought it to watch TWC TV to avoid extended cables and adapters and it shows me the TV guide, and also watch Netflix and other stuff, the picture and audio quality is great, the idea of just sticking a small device to an HDMI port is so nice, dual band wi-fi is a great feature, it is a bit slow to load when turned completely off but tolerable, I am planning on buying some more for the rest of the TVs around the house.
I got this for my bedroom, coming from the Roku 3 (which I love) in my living room. While I didn't have SUPER high expectations for the stick but there are some things that I wish were a little better. First the controller will unpair if you don't use it for a week and when you're trying to watch a show before bed, it's kind of annoying. The good news is; the app. I pretty much use that now instead of the controller. Startup is pretty slow as well but it's not that big of a deal. So overall it gets the job done. But if you want something to work WHEN you want it to work every time and maybe you aren't super savvy with technology, just get a 2 or 3. I'd definitely recommend this to another savvy friend, but not my mom.
