It often loads video very slowly and buffers frequently. I own 2 Roku 2s that have no streaming issues. I bought the stck for a garage TV and use it when I workout. It is OK, I wish it loaded more quickly. Pandora plays well consistently. YouTube streams well most, not all, of the time. Netflix buffers too frequently--sometimes every 10-15 minutes. I have this Roku attached to a TV located about 20 feet from the router.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love Roku

Tried to get up Google Chrome cast to work to no avail. Must have been defective didn't bother giving it a second chance and switched to Roku. I never regret that decision. The stick was the way to go and is cost effective for YouTube.

Poor quality

I bought my roku less than two months ago, and have had nothing but problems. From day one, the remote control would simply stop working for long periods of time, which is a problem when it's the only thing that enables you to use the device. Furthermore, the stick often will cease to function. My picture will often go in and out, and a blue screen frequently appears. I wish I had instead spent my money on the chromecast.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It works well compared to my other one which was the lowest price offered one of 3 years ago. I am sure once I get used to it it will be great but I am still on a learning curve.

I bought the least expensive model and works good for me. I'm not familiar with the more expensive models and their features, so I can't give any comparison opinions
