I've had my Roku just over a year and I found that it overheats. Some of the apps work while others, including the Time Warner app constantly fails and has to reboot. Most of the free apps have a very poor selection and they all s how the same movies.
I purchased this product as an alternative to cable/satellite as it was a better deal financially. So happy with the product and have recommended it to friends.
So far I am enjoying the replacement Roku 4 that you all sent to me over a week ago. I sent the first one back last Friday and you all should already by now have it at your Milpitas dock. The first one had a loud fan spinning noise which sounded like my laptop when it got very warm. This second Roku 4 is much quieter. I discovered a setting on this one that I was unaware of on the first one, the "run cooler setting". Even without this setting activated on the device the fan noise on this current unit is noticeable and runs frequently on and off but is not as loud. I discovered the run cooler setting on the current unit and enabled it and now I hardly ever hear any noise at all and it doesn't seem to get as warm. The other day I heard the fan come on for the first time since I got this unit. It was very quiet I almost could not hear it at all. I had to put my ear to the unit just to hear it. So far so good. I in my opinion think that you all should set " run cooler" as an automatic default for people who first get a Roku 4 and are not as yet familiar with the settings as I am. They will hook it up and all they will hear is a loud frequently on and off fan. I bought this Roku 4 because I recently purchased a 4 k TV. The resolution is great. Thanks Roku for your prompt service.
i currently had a roku 3 on another tv, that i was happy with. the streaming stick was much harder to connect and the remote does not work as well as the roku 3 remote does, if i had it to do over i would order another roku 3 unit.
