Bought Roku and had to return because remote did not work. App for phone was only way to use it. Replaced with new one and this one started to download but froze and would not complete setup. Returned second one and quit. Replaced with Apple TV which works fine. Product definitely needs improvement

Good, cheap streaming option...but SLOW

Overall, I'm satisfied with the Roku streaming stick. It has most of the features of the standard Roku units and the video quality is good. My main complaint is how laggy and unresponsive the user interface is at times. It seems like it "freezes" when you try to move through the menus too quickly and it can seem to take a while to load images, etc. Otherwise, it's an inexpensive way to get into the streaming game.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Large selection of apps and a sleek GUI

I liked the above mentioned but my device was very slow and froze frequently. This however wasn't my internet as everything else on our network functions flawlessly. Even a chrome cast oput in the same spot. Plus the Roku said the signal was excellent and speedtest shows 20mbps. The device was returned and we settled for my chrome cast since the Roku locked up and lagged so much. The batteries in the remote died everyday too. Very strange. Must have been trying to communicate constantly even when not in use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Kicked Cable TV to the curb.

We have both- Roku 3 for home and the Streaming stick for our camping trailer. We got tired of Cable TV prices and tried Roku and really enjoy it.

Started out as poor because using the TV USB PWR

Started with using the Samsung TV USB port for power and the ROKU device kept rebooting every 15 mins to 1 hour. Deduced it could be a power issue and switched to the power plug that came with the ROKU device and the reboot issue went away.
