There are only a few programs we like that we can't figure out how to stream using one service or another via the Roku. That is the ONLY thing that is keeping us from getting rid of cable TV entirely, and going with a Roku/Digital Antenna combination.
The Wi-Fi streams seamlessly. There is been no lag time at all. The free channels offered have a decent titles of movies ( not new ones). The fact that you can find a movie on your iPad iPhone or other Apple products and throw them up on your television to watch is awesome.
We have had our stick for about a year now and love it! The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it does freeze up and we have to unplug it due it getting too hot. But with that being said, it could be because it's our main source for watching television so it's used ALOT. And the freezing up could be our router. The best thing about it is the money saved from being free of a high cable bill. It comes preloaded with so many channels that it's up to you if you want to add extra. We have added Netflix, Hulu and Slingtv. We also have Amazon prime. That's all we pay for. All the rest of the channels we have on ours is FREE!
Putting in so much personal information to sign up for so many separate channels is a pain and ruins the experience. My husbands hates it for that reason and we haven't been using it.
Very happy I bought Roku.. The ease of use is better than anything I've bought in recent months. While in Best Buy (before Christmas) I noticed a gentleman trying to decide what kind to purchase. Not like me to intrude - couldn't help let him know my experience. He said, thanks and walked away with a Roku!
