Perfect replacement for satellite TV

Have used dvd players to stream apps like Netflix etc and they need resetting constantly or just stop working. The roku is so simple and reliable I'll never use anything else. Very satisfied with it.

My husband got me this as gift, and I LOVE it. It comes in handy when your bored or need to throw on a quick movie for the kid's! We use it daily

Good idea still needs some work

I've been using Roku stick for over a month now and it has its ups and downs.
Pros: No need for additional power supply. Works pretty decent. Syncs (channel wise) with other roku players. WiFi capabilities
Cons: Once TV is off the stick powers down too. On power on very slow to respond and sometimes you have to wait couple minutes before you can use it. WiFi signal in some cases is not very strong so it can loose the signal from time to time. It froze on me couple times but nothing that device restart can't fix :)

Bought one, liked it, bought another

We started with one; testing it out moving from TV to TV. It worked as expected so we bought another. We may buy a third to avoid streaming through our Smart (but SLOW) Blu-ray player. The only concern we had with the Stick was what many people mentioned: the length of the device. On our Samsung TV's it sticks way out of the back and could pose a problem with wall mounting. Another TV is a Sharp with the HDMI port running parallel to the screen. The stick BARELY fits in that location. If it was 1/8" longer it would not fit. I would recommend anyone considering this product to measure their TV / installation to insure the Stick can be accommodated. Otherwise it has performed well and we are happy.

need cable or sattelite for most channels

lots of channels if you have cable or satellite or know someone that does have it as most of the good channels you need to have cable or satellite to be able to get them
