I've had my stick for about 4 months now, and there are some issues. I had to move it out of my livingroom because it would not connect with the remote and had bad connection to the Internet most of the time. It seems to work better in my bedroom(the remote works more) but if I don't unplug and plug it back into the wall before watching after a period of time, t will give me a purple screen saying something about image disabled, but the sounds will be playing just no picture. SO I believe I will be returning my roku stick for another that will hopefully work better for me.
This is a great product, especially for the technologically challenged. Took minutes to set up and connected to WiFi easily. I've had it for 2 months now without any problems.
Easy to Plug and Play. A bit slow to respond to commands, but a bit of patience and all is fine. Biggest disappointment is the VERY bright light on the stick that casts a long arc in the bedroom. I actually have to pull the thing out and turn it over to off the light-really bad design there
I really love the device overall. I have used a few others and would rate it as the best. That said, the programmed channel buttons need the ability to be customized. It is frustrating to have a button for a channel that is no longer in existence (rdio)
I had one of the other streaming players and this one is far superior with many more channels and features to choose from. My only drawback was that I didn't take into consideration that the remote control works by wifi which is nice if you want to have to use two separate remote controls to operate your tv. Me I'm lazy and only want to use one so I traded my stick in for a Roku 1 which can be programmed into a standard universal type remote so I can use the same remote for both my tv and my roku player. I loved the fact that the stick was able to be powered from your tv's USB plug but I'm happy to give that up in order to have the ability to combine the remote controls.
