Great idea but....

I bought the Roku stick for my 88 year old dad. He was excited about watching shows when he wanted to. However, we are having to contantly reset the remote to the device. He cannot do it because it is difficult for him to get the back off and push the very small button. I have a Roku 2 and have the same issues. Rokus are great but the remotes are not.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great price/performance - questionable remote

The Roku Stick is a great idea and done very well with one problem. Plugging the stick into an HDMI plug on the back of the TV puts the body of the TV between the Stick and the remote. That configuration appears to hinder the remote's operation.

Great addition to any tv with an hdmi port. I prefer this over a smart tv. There are quite a few so called smart tvs with limited apps. This is on parallel with a higher end smart tv. Easy to use interface and with it being a stick you can easily take it on the go. You can also leave the remote behind if you wish and just use your smart phone as a remote while on the go. We are a Roku house, All tvs have Roku instead of cable boxes. This little guy is awesome to take on the road so you can take your streaming with you.

it's okay

I bought the roku stick about a month ago. it's okay my remote dies constantly. I have to replace the batteries like every 3 days it's so annoying. and it freezes alllll the time. & my Internet works fine on all my other devices. all the subscriptions you have to pay for are really expensive it would probably be cheaper to get cable service than to pay for the channels I want on the roku. but other than that it's alright.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Better than its MHL equivalent we own

We got this free for signing up for 3 months of Sling TV and it is way better, faster, and higher resolution than the self powered, 3400M MHL version we got with out AV receiver.
