My only concern is that sometimes the stick will not connect to our internet. However, I don't know if that is a problem with our internet or the Roku. Might be the internet. I am very impressed with the selection of channels on the Roku - much more than I anticipated. We don't subscribe to any of the channels that cost money, and so far have not rented anything, as we prefer to watch what we can get for free. The setup was easy for the most part - there was some initial trouble getting the Roku to connect to the internet, but I called customer service and they were very helpful in getting me connected.

We were given a roku streaming stick for Christmas and didn't think much of it - until we started using it and we LOVE it! So many things you can do and so much of it is free (:

While we are retired seniors, we try and keep pace with new electronics. Our sons our oldest son recommended ROKU. So, we bought a ROKU Streaming Stick and since we belong to Amazon Prime, we can stream free movies...and we have and we love it. We have plenty of free trials to try as well, but, we will likely stick to ROKU and Amazon because there's not monthly or per movie charge for Amazon Prime Members!

My family bought the stick in December, 2015 to transition away from cable. We were tired of constantly worrying about cable prices rising and decided to take control over the costs. This has been a great entry into the world of cord cutting

Roku Stick was a Good Companion to my older Roku2

I bought the stick as a less $ dollar option so I could watch my Tablo live and recorded shows and Sling on an inside HDTV I don't use much. I also have a 2012 Roku 2 XS on an older non-digital Big TV out in the garage that is used all the time. As a recent cord-cutter but also a big TV lover I did a LOT of research for at least 3 years before making the LEAP. The only reason I kept cable as long as I did was the DVR. There were not that many cable channels we actually watched except News and a few others. Mostly I was recording Network shows. Most of the other recording options were cumbersome and were not getting good reviews at all. I had been watching the implementation and reviews of Tablo, which were steadily improving, for a while and when I realized that they had hooked up with Roku STB I was super excited -- I was NOT interested in having Tablo only be usable with my iPad or iPhone being the remote. No - Unh Uh. However, It's great with both Roku's. The Stick is about twice as fast as my old Roku. The Roku remotes have a nice hand feel and are easy and uncomplicated to use. Unlike a much faster competitor STB which also supports Tablo and Sling I rarely mis-hit the button I want. On the other I hit the wrong button ALL the time. May be faster but it is way more frustrating. Then when Sling TV came along and I realized I could get most of the cable channels I watched for only $20 well that's all she wrote. I save approx. $120 per month and that has more than paid for my cord cutting technology investment. I am still thinking about getting one more of the older Roku's while they are still available as I have yet another huge non-digital Sony that still works great. None of the STB competitors have a version that can be used with the old red/yellow/white cables. Roku was smart to keep that available for awhile. That TV ain't going nowhere til it dies. I have a great little converter on it now from back in 2009 when TV went digital, plus an older Sony DVD player, plus a Wii so I can still watch Netflix or Amazon. As a 65yr old fairly tech-savvy Grandma, I'm telling you if you're thinking about saving some money, read all the Cord-Cutter articles you can find, be patient and absorb the information. It really is not that hard. My hubby is not tech-savy in the least so it took him a bit to get used to it but he is now won over and tells everybody at any chance how proud he is of me for figuring it out and how much he loves our money saving but still recording set-up. I love my Roku's.
