Some apps, like YouTube, take a long time to boot up. When navigating menus (and some apps) it can take over 30 seconds to load. When booting up the Stick when it's powered off takes very long (Even longer when you power it with your TV's USB port.) No computer or mobile device mirroring.
Got one for Christmas to replace using my Nintendo Wii. Soooo glad I did. Better video quality, faster everything, super easy to set up and use, my only complaint is that the remote is glitchy. I have to remove and reinstall the batteries sometimes to get it to work.
The products in about average but the remote control never work out of the box. Other reviews showed this is a common issue so I haven't bothered callin it in.
I love my roku- except when it shuts itself down, the remote runs out of batteries within a month, or it gets all glitchy. That said, I have purchased two more and recommend them to everyone! Hoping that newer versions will have fewer issues, but most days-- I love my roku!
As a cord cutter, I was looking for a streaming device for our main tv to carry Sling TV. This tool has done this job flawlessly. Set up was a breeze and the volume of streaming channels is immense. Netflix and Hulu run great but once in a while Sling TV runs slow which I believe is on their end, not because of the Roku. It's been about a month so far and I'm pretty happy with my Roku.
Bought this several months ago so that I could get some variety in my hotel. After downloading and installing Connectify as a hotspot on my laptop, Roku connected right away and I've been using it ever since.
I already own a Roku 3, which I highly recommend. The Streaming Stick has the same functionality, but navigation is challenging because remote response is sluggish and, to be frank, frustrating. Drop the extra bucks and get the Roku 3.
