Absolutely LOVE the Roku service. More things to see and watch then there is time to watch them all. The only fault I see is with the dad gone remote. Not sure what the issues are but it needs work. My phone app does a much better job of controling the Roku stick then the cheesey remote that came in the box. If the remote actually worked, you'd have gotten 5 stars.
We bought our Roku as a Christmas gift & we sure have been enjoying it! So far this has been a wonderful purchase. We have minimal channels on our analog antenna and the "stick" allows us to watch favorite shows when we choose! Love it!
Bought two Roku Sticks, ended up returning both the store exchanging them for Roku 2 Boxes. The hardware in the Sticks is slow and sluggish, the remotes seem to stop working frequently (is a RF/point anywhere remote). Other than the hardware being less then fair, overall the rest of the product is good. The stick has a BAD habit of rebooting randomly on you.
Based on what I have used (Roku Stick/Roku 2/Roku 3) I would say skip the cheap sticks and just buying the Roku boxes instead. The hardware in the boxes seems to work significantly better!
I purchased this and the Roku 3. I have been extremely happy with the Roku platform and the channels available. This issue is in the speed and hardware. The software speed compared to the Roku 3 is about 50% slower. I did not think it would be such a difference, but this is really good for a bedroom TV or less used TV. Not recommended for a main viewing TV. The other issue is the hardware. I thought this would be just a stick, rather it is a stick, and a power cable. Having to use the power cable pretty much defeats the small size of the stick. I've noticed a few people buying the USB connector for power, but my opinion, buy the Roku 2 or 3 as its about the same amount of room. Having said that, the Roku devices are a must if you cut the cable or want an easy viewing of streaming services.
I can watch anything I want because Roku hooks me up! Love this stick and love that I don't have to sacrifice the channels I really want since Roku is Miss Independent. I do think there is a lack of some old foreign classic movies though. I can't rely on TCM to play La Dolce Vita when I feel it.
