The only problem I have with it is that it will often freeze up on me. It will stay stuck in the position it is in and can not move from one service to the other, I have to remove the batteries from the remote and unplug the power cable and re-plug, sometimes three or four times before it starts to work again. Otherwise it is a great little device.
I bought the Roku stick so that I can watch Acorn shows. Unfortunately, it no longer seems to allow streaming of the Acorn channel. I can stream Amazon but it is very slow and nowhere near as reliable for that purpose as my smart TV. I have had to stream Acorn through my laptop in order to watch it. This is both inconvenient and awkward as I don't have a remote for my laptop. The problem was reported to Acorn with no response. I have tried all of the solutions reported for the Roku with no luck.
We have now purchased 3 Roku's and we could not be happier. They are esy to use and set up. What a great addiction for binge television. We recently signed for time warner and they suggested it to us as an alternative to hook up to an outdoor tv so we could watch their shows wireless.
Happy I got this. Creating the account was a little tricky bc the Roku website did some weird things, but the stick is easy to use. No issues so far. I wasn't sure whether the remote is a must have, but it absolutely is vital to have a control to go with the stick. Menus are intuitive and easy to use. Powerful little device.
I got this for Christmas and I am loving it but the only thing with it is that with nick is you cant watch it everything is locked and you have to sign up and dish is not on the tv provide list. Other than that I love using it.
