I have to say I really like the whole idea of streaming but I seem to be missing something. There are just way to many passwords involved an different web sites to sign into. I like my Roku HDMI streaming stick but I think it should controls more like that of a DVR player. Maybe a channel button, a separate play and pause buttons. Over all I think it is a good product I am just old and need to spend more time on learning how to use it.
I'm new to the streaming world after cancelling DISH. Everyone I spoke with said that Roku is the way to go, and that the Stick (vs Box) would meet my needs just fine (not a gamer - just want TV and movies). So far I'm happy, and saving about $80 a month with subs to Netflix and Hulu.
The on-demand streaming world is taking some getting used to. It requires more active planning, rather than just letting the TV run through various shows in the background while doing chores, etc. The trade off is now I have more control over what I view. However, I feel like I may miss out on some programs that I would not normally choose.
I bought a streaming stick about a year ago and I love it. I also just bought one for a friend and he loves it. He had the Amazon firestick before and it was not user friendly. I'm eve thinking about buy another one so I would have one for each tv.
Got this for Christmas and immediately got hooked on two new TV series! My only complaint is that at certain times of the day, the streaming is very intermittent and sometimes unavailable.
I received this as a gift. I only use it for the free stuff. It is OK if you don't mind all of the interruptions for commercials. It wouldn't be that bad, except it is a repeat of the same commercials over and over again.
