great and simple streaming tool

Got this primarily for Acorn. It was very easy and simple to install (I'm 79 yrs old not a computer geek by any means).
My wife says its the best thing we ever purchased. There are so many channels and so much to watch but so little time.

Inconsistent Performance

We have a Roku box which works very well, so I was disappointed with the performance of the stick. First off its slow. I was not expecting lightning speed from a stick, but I expected a smoother experience when navigating menus. The real problem though is the remote. The remote stops working with the stick on a regular basis and getting it to work is hit or miss most of the time. What we do to correct the problem one time does not usually work the second time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought the streaming stick 6 months ago and at first it worked great, but after several months it started to repeatedly restart in the middle of streaming content. Finally, I ended up upgrading to the Roku 2 and and MUCH happier with that product. While the streaming stick was compact and easy to install, I don't recommend it for quality of media streaming.

If I could get it to stop buffering every 3 seconds, I could probably give a better review. My Apple TV never had this issue. Terrible awful, going back to my Apple TV.

Will be cancelling cable soon. A lot of free content, music , movies etc. Wish more channels weren't tied to a cable account though.

Easy to maneuver and operate!!

I bought this about a month ago. I was having problems with one of my other devices and having bought a tv with the roku built in, and loving that, I thought I would give this a try. I love the Roku product. It is easy to set up, easy to maneuver around and operate. I don't regret my decision!!
