I purchased s Roku for Christmas for my boyfriend. We love it and we are so glad we are saving money by eliminating our cable bill.

I asked for roku for x-mas, I'm trying to sever the cable cord which isn't easy in my area I still need their internet. Set up was easy, simple to use. Tons of options to watch many of which require a subscription fee, though plenty of free choices I don't feel like I'm settling. It seems to freeze up occasionally, easily rebooted by unplugging. I just discovered a reset button they didnt describe in the instructions. I bought a second streaming stick for an additional tv which I'm having problems setting up. Its going to require a phone call that I haven't taken the time to do yet.

I got this as a Christmas present from my mom. I love it, but beware the remote was broken almost immedeatly! I got the player on and then all the sudden the remote wasn't working. Thankfully, Roku has an app that can double as the remote which is pretty awesome. So I just use that instead. The set up was extremely easy & took a few minutes. Other than the remote not working, I've had a positive experience!!!

Only one flaw

We were surprised by the access to different internet channels. We bought the ROKU to stream Netflix, but there is so much more available. The one problem we're having is that every time we try to start a movie we are "denied access" and have to push the reset button and run through the entire process to get back to the movie we want to watch. It's a pain in the neck.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
