We got ours for Christmas, it is amazing. The only drawback is that for some of the channels require monthly subscriptions. They give you a trial period to get you hooked on that channel and then ends with a subscription. There are quite a bit of free channels but you have to search to see what you are looking for. If you have a Netflix or Vudu account you can access or pay a monthly subscription.
It's very affordable and easy to use, no nonsense! Very easy to set up too. I love how I'm able to use Pandora also- I didn't know I could when I bought it! I definitely might buy it for my other tv.
Roku is great! I've completely severed ties with cable. My Roku enabled TV and my newly purchased streaming stick (for a 2nd TV) are all I need as Roku provides local news channels and also subscriber enabled channels.
Bought the Roku Streaming Stick to replace my Roku 1 (which was still working good but some of the streaming apps looked very dated through the Roku 1). The Streaming Stick is great, easy to set up and use, same great content. Plugs into the back or side of your tv so there is no extra little box on your entertainment center/table. And its a great value at the prices I've seen it offered for. The negatives are few. The Streaming Stick is a little slower to load than my other Roku (Roku 3). Its not something dramatically different but the load times are noticeable. Also I wish all Roku's had the headphone jack on the remote like the Roku 3 does. It is a feature the I love and use often when using the Roku 3. I would definitely recommend the Roku Streaming Stick.
