Best thing since sliced bread. Both my husband and me enjoy our roku. There are certain programs we enjoy and we can watch them done the road when we have time.

Action packed little device

We bought this over Christmas and it was the best purchase ever! We bought this to replace our cablebox in a spare bedroom and to try out Netflix. I wasn't expecting much from a little "stick", but holycow. My husband is an HD snob. He refuses to watch a movie or show if it's not in HD. This little stick delivers on the HD.
It takes a little getting used to from a typical cable box or what I would consider normal cable guide. I was able to customize the look of the "Home" screen when we first access it. I am way more comfortable adding channels to our Roku lineup and going in and seeing what's on. Love the Amazon channel and that the Prime comes with a subscription I already have.

Now that we've been using it awhile, I've lowered our cable bill over $100. We love this thing and we can take it with us. My Mom doesn't have Netflix and wanted to watch a movie we were talking about. I just popped it in my purse and boom, we were watching at her house.
The only thing that is a little hinky for me is the remote takes a little getting used to. I'm used to this big remote with numbers and the whole nine. This is tiny and streamlined. Signing into the different channels for the first time was a bit of a pain using the arrow keys to go through the onscreen keyboard, but you only do it once. Again, after a few weeks, you don't even notice. If my mom can use it, anyone can (sorry mom)!

Bang for your buck!

I have 4 ROKU sticks and 1 older ROKU HD. These devices are very convenient and do a great job of streaming content. 2 of my sticks are in my vacation condo where I have not cable service. We are able to watch so many programs using our home ATT U-Verse service on sports, tv programs. We use Netflix and AcornTV so much. We are never without something to watch. Great product.

I bought this over a month ago. I would have no complaints with it at all if I didn't already have a Roku 2xs. Which just operates a bit faster and better positioning to receive the remote signal. Also my TV stand and HDMI ports did not line up very well to plug the device in. Probably just my style of flat screen.....

I have both Roku's and could not be happier. I have had to reboot the 5000 twice do it locking up but that is minor compared to the hours and hours of use.
