We cancelled our cable TV and decided to use an antenna to receive local channels. We thought Roku would be a good solution to watching Netflix and Hulu and possibly access to some free channels. We have been happy so far, alittle disappointed in the "Free Channels". These channels are not what I had hoped they would be. Roku itself is a good product and easy to use, just be aware that the advertisement for "Free Channels" is not really that good.
I got a Roku stick in order to simplify my streaming experience. My smart TV's interface was horrible. Using Netflix and Amazon Prime apps on my X-Box 360 was a tedious affair and streamed slowly. The Roku stick has done everything I'd hoped it would, it makes streaming easy, and I don't get lag like I would with my other devices.
I am really enjoying the Roku streaming stick. Considering the variety and initial cost, it is extremely cost saving compared to the cost of cable and satellite television. I am very impressed.
We were looking for something easy to use in a spare bedroom and this certainly qualified. Setup was very easy and it takes little to no room which is another plus.
