I have had the stick for less than a month. I have a widescreen high def tv. Using the roku tends to make my screen dark, and the definition of the apps is significantly less than 1080. I know that roku has several tiers of this product. Does quality improve with the more costly versions?
I've tried other streaming devices in the past and didn't have high hopes for this one either to be honest. But it works really really well. Even though it is WiFi only, it still puts out high quality video with no buffering. The remote works surprisingly well. The amount of content available for free is really nice and all the paid supsciption services are there as well.
Very happy with the Roku streaming stick. Now all it needs is an OFF button so I don't have to unplug it every time I'm done with it.
I recently purchased the Roku stick... Twice. Both times the remote has stopped working, despite trouble shooting methods. Took the first one back for an exchange. Second one worked for a couple of weeks and has since quit working. Luckily I put the app on my phone and can use its remote function, but if I'm not home no one else can watch roku. I would recommend the product, as long as you have the app for back up and are the only one watching.
