I really can't give a good review on the streaming stick as the remote died after 2 days, I changed the batteries, checked the voltage on the batteries and they are great. The remote is dead so the streaming sick is worthless.
Works great. Love having a remote. Was given another brand for Christmas, but you got to use your phone or tablet. The remote removes all that. Truly satisfied.
I bought Roku just to watch past episodes of my shows. Now I'm hooked with other shows as well. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 it's because I've had to reset it multiple time. If the clicking sound is not heard when changing from one app to the other the picture won't show but you can hear it.
We got the Roku, and when connected it appears that everything it connects to has a fee attached. We can acess all these sites without the ROKU. so it seems that we just wasted money.
Great search, but lackluster app updates and speed

The universal search is unmatched by the competition, and the Roku has a great interface if you are giving up tv altogether. The Roku is perfect for finding where to watch exactly what you want to watch.
There are also a ton of app "channels" for almost anything you can think of, but many are not updated often or get abandoned by their developers quickly. For example, the Spotify app hasn't been updated in what appears to be several years, and lacks most basic functions from the app on any other platform. Other channels all seem to have their own navigation method, which can be hard to pick up at first. Actual app design is a free-for-all.
Over time, my Roku stick has gotten slower. It could really benefit from some more horsepower, and sometimes take a little while to load channels. There is noticable lag across even the Roku interface, and especially in Netflix with their most recent update.
Overall, it's easy enough for anyone to use or figure out. That was something that some of my friends and my parents struggled with while attempting to use my Chromecast. The Roku Stick is by far the cheapest, easiest option compared to the other competition if you want search and a remote.
