1st off, just like everyone else I hate TWC. That being said, I still have to use them, but paying them less is the next best thing. The only thing negative about this stick is access to channels such as ABC, Disney and just recently aware, Fox Sports Ohio to watch the Reds games. Hopefully this will change soon, but other wise this is a great buy.
We live very busy lifestyles and don't really have time to sit and watch scheduled programs. We bought our Roku a month ago and we have been watching commercial free TV for weeks. We have also added our favorite cable networks as well as HBO, SHOWTIME, HULU and NETFLIX. We now watch what we want when we want!!!
Hundreds of free channels....False, 99% of the channels require cable/satellite provider or for you to pay a monthly subscription fee per channel.
Dreaded purple screen with this error code "HDCP Unauthorized. Content Disabled"...I see this screen EVERY time I try to play anything when my t.v. has been powered off for longer than an hour. The only fix is to unplug the streaming stick and plug it back it, however, this quick temporary fix doesn't work on all t.v. brands making the device useless.
I'd rather look at an ugly satellite dish obstructing my mountain views than deal with the seemingly endless additional subscription expenses and having to move furniture to constantly reinstall the device multiple times a day.
I have a Roku box in my living room for almost 2 years. With Roku I was ablessed to get rid of cable once my "contract" was up, ya, contract! What's up with that??!! I get so many free channels, and I also have Netflix, and Amazon prime so I have never missed cable tv. I recently bought the streaming stick for my bedroom, it plugged into the back of my tv, you can't even see it and I was worried it may not work with the remote back there but it works great!! The only problem I have with the Roku streaming stick is.....now I end up staying awake to late watching tv, lol! I love my roku's!!
We can watch latest seasons of favorite shows via Netflix channel and can catch American masters programs we missed on PBS channel. The channels are slow to load. Once the program starts, the streaming quality is fine.
