I recently decided to try Roku again (after trying it one time before in which I wasn't sold on it), but I have to say that now that I have decided to 'cut the cord' from large cable companies, I absolutely LOVE Roku. I have a Roku 1 hooked up to an older television and it works outstanding. I also have a Roku stick and only have one complaint... The HD port is in the back of the television, and that is what I have the Roku hooked up to... the issue is the remote doesn't work well... it seems as though the television between the remote and stick is causing interference and the remote works sporadically because of this. Most times I have to get up and point the remote behind the TV before the remote will 'pick up the signal' before it starts working and then cuts off usually halfway through. Frustrating. I have my cell phone with the remote app, and it works well to work the TV, but the remote that comes with the 'Stick' just is not reliable. Other than that, though, I still do love Roku and think it is just a matter of time before Cable television feels the 'exodus' of customers.
I bought this and the only problem I would say I have with this product is that sometimes when I use it and I'm watching a show on Netflix it will stop my show and load every three minutes and it's such a pain but when this product actually works it's AWESOME
lots of missing images in tiles. the only way to get them to appear is to exit out and go to home and start over. when selecting some tv shows to view in Hulu, the screen goes to black and stays that way. nothing else happens. the only thing to do is to exit by using the home button again and find something else to watch.
intially thought it was my cheap internet service (5 Mbps) that was causing the issue until I bought an Amazon fire stick. no more missing images. tried to view the same shows that produced the blacked out screen with Roku, with the fire stick the show started playing without issues. I intentionally bought both Roku stick and Fire stick to compare the two, now I wish I skipped the Roku. good thing I watch one TV at a time, the Roku stick is with the TV I use on weekends. piece of junk.
