I have a roku 3 for the living room and bought a roku stick for the bedroom. It gets the job done after it process for a short time. I watch tv a lot less in the bedroom so for the price the stick is worth it.
After 30+ years of cable tv with "nothing good to watch" my husband and I unpluged. We watched from our video library for about 6 months and then decided to try Netflix. My techy son said Roku was the best and he was right. We replaced our Google Chrome with the Roku and have never been sorry.
The genius of Roku is all the content that is currently online, but only accessible by a computer can be access on your television, similar to a smart TV, but with a lot more channels.
My only complaint would be the mandatory credit card. When trying to watch a playoff game I downloaded CBS, which didn't carry the game, and sure enough they charged me for it even though I never used it. It was actually on CBS Sports, which is free. But I have been on Roku for a couple years and that was the only issue.
I bought this like a few weeks ago because our Wii would drop our connection when we wanted to watch Netflix, and this Roku Streaming Stick works great so happy I bought it :)
I am crazy about my Roku! I have a smart TV, but it was missing one thing to get Netflix ~ THE ROKU! My grandson helped me set it up and showed me how easy it is to work. I love the little remote and am enjoying watching shows I missed, and some I saw but enjoy watching again. Thank you!
Got the Roku stick for Christmas, currently own a version 2 box and a chrome cast (was a little tired of chrome cast limitations). Out of the box, easy to hook up.. but as soon as i started setup, we had trouble. First, the remote that comes with it, ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE. Didn't think that would be an issue, because we use our smartphones as remotes. You cannot complete the setup without the remote, so after three hours of trying to get it to connect to the Roku stick (including calling tech support), i gave up and moved our Roku box from the bedroom back into the living room. After a week, i decided to try to get it working again... remote connected for about 3 minutes, just in time to get the Roku stick setup, and it hasn't connected since. Has worked good so far with the smartphone remotes. I have removed batteries from remote and put it back in the box; if i have to do setup on it again.. I'll probably just throw it out and go buy another Roku box.
