It freezes. I have to keep unplugging it and restarting. I want to return it to the store and get the regular Roku. I've had three of the original ones, and never experienced the problems Im having with the stick.
I bo't the stick in July, but didn't get to use it until I was set up in different house with a 2nd TV in Jan for this year. I also have a Roku3. I do wish they'd mesh better tho' so it'll open to the same episodes of frequently watched shows on each TV. But, meanwhile I remember what episode and move to it - its just that if there was 1/2 to 3/4 of that episode seen I either have to watch again or skip and try to find where I was.
Prior to purchasing the Roku Streaming Stick I'd had two Roku LTs that I purchased years ago. While their performance was always solid in terms of streaming quality they aren't as responsive as they once were. So, when I purchased the Roku Streaming Stick I was expecting it to have the same less than ideal responsiveness that the LTs do. I was wrong. The stick is very responsive and even keeps up with "heavier" apps such as Time Warner Cable. I can change channels and navigate around the app significantly faster than I can with the aforementioned LTs. In short, if you're looking for a responsive and inexpensive streaming stick with a huge selection of "channels," go with the Roku Streaming Stick.
I have this Roku stick and i do love it but I think it needs a Hulu button on it as well as a sleep button on it. As well i think it should be a rechargeable device being plugged in is a pain.
I bought two sticks and only one tv stick will work at a time. If they are both playing I constantly have to re-set the stick and/or it freezes up. I finally realized that if only one is plugged in it works fine.
Extremely slow. I ended up buying another Roku 2 which works great. The Roku stick has found a place on my shelf, can't return it since it's over 30 days.
Got it all setup and started using it, but then it would freeze the screen. Nothing would bring it back out of the frozen screen except unplugging it. Once that is completed then it would have to reboot after plugging it back in. Then, again a frozen screen. Touching the device, it was very warm. So I returned the Roku stick and purchased an Apple TV which I am very pleased with.
