So happy I bought this. Great device. I am 64 yrs old and wasn't sure of getting something like this for fear of not knowing how to set it up. But it was unbelievably easy and fun!!!
The product is fine but I've had trouble linking to the Internet through my Comcast modem/router. The support person said this is a common problem and suggested going through a different router -- not exactly what I signed up for. Also, I'm TOTALLY bummed that Comcast subscribers can't get HBOGO through Roku. Don't know if the problem is Comcast or Roku but it's definitely a problem.
Used this Roku HDMI Stick to stream a live event from WWE Network. It worked flawlessly. Great picture, better than my Roku 2XS. The Netflix app is so much better with continuous episode play. Netflix does take a bit long to start up but not a deal breaker. Compact with great network capabilities. Powered by the USB port on my tv so no need to plug it in to an outlet (although a plug is included along with a USB cable). Super easy setup that took seconds to complete. I might even get another Roku Stick for our spare bedroom.
This is my 3rd Roku device ..started with the original (2) and gave my nice one of them and went to the ROKU3...when my other original started acting up I got the HDMI Streaming stick...The one original is still working.. They are all simple to set up and well worth the money (having Amazon Prime makes it an even better deal) I do not like the new format of the stick as well as I did the #3 but it just takes some getting used too. The few times I have had any problems I went to the "CHAT" in the support dept and they figured the problems out every time.. I am 72 years old and not into all this new fangled stuff but sure am glad my friend showed me ROKU..
If you watch TV, the Roku is the most for the least. Watch what you want to watch when you want to watch it. It's as simple as that. For 50 bucks, it's a gift that goes on giving. An investment in the future of TV watching that cannot be beaten. It has all of the power that a PC has, in fact, that's really what it is. A whole PC, miniaturized to fit in one's hand. But not just an ordinary PC because it's been optimized for high-end graphics, like a gaming computer. I simply cannot say anything bad about the Roku, even if I try.
I've had a Roku Streaming Stick for about 3 weeks and I'm very happy with it. Gobs of channels, and I can watch MLB without freeze-ups like I had with a certain Blu-ray player. Just plug it in and go!
Two problems: One, the plug does not work so I must use the USB port (not all of my TVs have a USB so that is a problem). Two, as noted by others, including the tech columnist David Pogue, it is very slow to load. I am returning the Stick and trading it for the classic version.
