I just bought mine this morning. Took me a while to decide to cut the cable (dish tv) and get this gadget. There is no turning back. I love it! Very easy to set up, but a little time consuming. So many channels, and lots of them are free. Plus I get the music apps I already like, such as Pandora and iheart radio. I am extremely glad to have this little device.
For any of you who utilize any foul language filtration like TVGuardian to clean up the profanity in your family entertainment, Netflix on Roku is a bad choice. Your TVGuardian unit will not work and all the profanity will sound off.
I had Netflix and I added acorn and hulu and now have replaced my cable with shoes I want to watch. The only (I mean only) thing I was disappointed with was that you cant get HBO to go with out cable. The 1,000 free channel make up for it though. I can rent 'Trueblood' only amazon, iTunes, or any of the many, many other Roku channels. I am very satisfied. Make sure that if you get two Roku devices your internet provider can handle the big data drain.
I saw a review that you need at least 4" space for this and saw that the device itself is only around 3". But when you add the power plug, it then becomes a very inflexible 4" or more and won't work with many TVs where the connector is on the back. Tried to use smaller miniUSB plugs to power it. No luck so far. May have to return.
I have the Roku 2 xd and just purchased the HDMI Stick....love it so much I discontinued my cable/satellite. Picked up an Antenna to bring in local channels and use Roku for everything else... Big savings
Love the concept but the product is faulty. I am on my seond stick with the same problems. It randomly resets/rebots while I am in the menu trying to pick a show. Some apps are worse than other. Netflix is the worse. My chromeast doesn't have these issues but I wanted to better selection that Roku has.
