I had my roku for about two months now. I like how easy the set up was and it didnt take lone. The stick is easily portable for travel and theres plenty of optioms for my three year old and i. My only con would be the constint resetting i have done within these months. It gets slow as a change in and out of channels and sometimes freezes needing me to reset . However still a great option and good for hotels as we will be enjoying summer traveling but maybe the newer options may suit me better in the future for a faster performance.
Have had my Roku for about 2 months.....only thought I have is: why have I been such a knucklehead to pay a cable company for so many years. Now I have more choices of ehatto watch and it is Free!!!!....No brainer
The pros are that it is inexpensive and that it hides behind your TV set. We have had a Roku 1 puck for years and have now had the Roku Stick for a few months. The stick is not faster than the 1, although it has an improved interface with more eye candy. However, We have experienced frequent crashes and hangs, something that we have never experienced with the Roku 1. If I could, I would replace the Stick with a Roku 3, but Roku has a very unforgiving return policy. So I'm stuck with the stick. My advice: buy a Roku (they're great), but buy a 3 (or a 4 if you're a gamer). Don't buy a Stick until they've gotten the kinks out.
I had the Apple box on one TV so thought I'd try the Roku on another TV. The first thing I noticed was the remote which I thought was easier to use than the Apple. I was interested in getting Netflix on all 3 of my TV sets. I plan on ordering a Roku again. The install was super simple and easy. Mine was the least expensive Roku and works like a charm. I think it helps to have good fast internet speed when streaming.
I bought it a month ago at the suggestion of a neighbor, and just love it. We live on a boat and have poor tv reception so this has helped a great deal.
