Better than DVD or TV embedded Streamers

I previously used a DVD player to stream netflix and amazon. The streaming stick has a faster load time, better picture and better interface. Setup was fairly easy although I had to purchase a an HDMI extension cable due to the location and angle of the HDMI ports on my TV.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have apple tv2, google chromecast, and finally the Roku stick. I bought to evaluate all 3. Each has their distinct features.Gooogle TV allowswhats on your tablet or phone to be seen on your tv but no remote. Apple TV is a solid name brand around for a long time. The Roku has a great deal of features but the remote makes it my choice above the google chromecast even the the price is a bit more

I brought in June 2014 it's working Good, nice no more need a Dish work with high speed internet only things I see is its get Hot too much if you keep on 24/7

Purchased because of price, got exactly what I expected, i.e. not quite as fast as the Roku 3 but same functionality.

I love that it's out of sight and no wires show at all. It takes about a minute to boot up but once it's on its extremely fast and worth the wait. Sound and visuals (image quality) are a 10/10 it's the perfect device for all your entertainment needs.

We bought this as an experiment to see if it would work with 4G mobile broadband service, and it does, very well. We don't have cable access, only satellite. Roku is a much cheaper option for providing alternate (to rabbit ears) TV viewing. It's basically free. I wish there were live network TV broadcasts available, particularly NFL games.

Good features, easy to use, but...

I really like the streaming stick. It's easy to use, the features are great, & it has an additional feature I enjoy when binge-watching episodes: it skips the "previously on" part of a new episode. There is one aspect of the streaming stick I do not like. I recently quit cable, & only have antenna TV, but the stick interferes with my reception so I actually have to unplug it when I want to watch regular television, which is really annoying.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent Purchase!

We have two other Roku products in our home. We purchased this one for our bedroom. I has been great and does everything that the more expensive Roku 3 does with the exception of games and a head phone jack. The head phone jack would have been nice in our bedroom but we are still thrilled with our purchase.
