More than expected

I'm glad that I purchased the Roku Stick. It's great but at least by now, like a new system has some freezing and signal lost or no signal issues on some channels, not the Roku it self.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great little device full of awesome apps a must have for all households. best investment ever had more apps avalible then my smart tv no disappointments here highly recommend.

Love the simplicity of the rocky steaming stick. Connects to our wifi everytime. We have a smart tv, but the stick is better. More choicee. Also roku support is great. When our remote was lost, they shipped another.

Great Ideas! Poor Real World Performance

Bought the streaming stick to replace an aging laptop we were using in the bedroom for streaming media. No matter what we tried the stick couldn't hold the wireless signal long enough to actually watch a show. We bought an extender to bring it away from the TV to lessen interference but it had no effect. Bought a range extender for our router and still couldn't hold the signal. When the stick is within 10 feet of the wireless hub it works but that does not fit our needs. Sidenote, all other wireless devices get 12mbps download speeds in all rooms of the house.
We ended up testing it in the living room, next to the hub as that was the only location it would stream fast enough to work, instead of the ps3 because it does have certain applications the ps3 does not. However the extended load times, poor picture quality, crashes, and remote synching issues have all but diminished any value.
Overall, I am very disappointed with this product as I thought it was going to simplify things but it just doesn't have the hardware or software stability to be usable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been using the older Roku 2 XD for more than 2 years. Got this one for the new TV that we bought.
Roku Stick works as expected. Setup was done with no issue.
The only issue that I see is that the speed of loading apps/movies on the Stick is much slower compared to my older Roku 2.

I love the Roku streaming stick I also have a Roku 3 the difference in processing is night and day.I would recommend it but if you can afford the extra 50 bucks for the Roku 3 that's the direction I would go.

I have tried it becuase of its small footprint, but stick with the box unit. It stalls way to much in the day, not like the bigger box unit.
