We bought our second Ruku Streaming Stick for a 32" TV I installed in a bedroom without any cable connection! It was very easy to connect the stick to the TV, is out of sight, and provides a great alternative to "cutting the cord"! Very clear picture and I really enjoy having the flexibility of just adding the stations I want and not what a "smart TV" provider wants to provide.
It takes forever for it to load and there are way too many commercials. A minute of the show and two minutes of commercials. And the same ones over and over, sometimes the same one repeatedly in a row. Lots of channels don't have closed captioning. I may see what other companies offer. It cost way too much for the poor service you get.
I have the basic Roku stick. It was pretty easy to install (basically plug and play) and It was easy to set up and not too difficult to get connected with the streaming content providers. Recently I began getting "HDCP Unauthorized Content Disabled" message. This blocks the video feed. Only because I was able to Google search this issue was I able to fix the problem. The issue was purported to be due a bad HDMI cable. Wrong. The Roku stick does not use an HDMI cable. It plugs directly into an HDMI jack on the TV. Well I can get it working again after unplugging the TV and rebooting the Roku stick. This problem has begun to happen more and more frequently and is now happening several times a week. This is why I will not recommend to friends. The content and the quality are great when it works. It is just very aggravating to have to reset things so often.
