I decided to purchase a Roku streaming stick for my bedroom HDTV. It was easy to set up the stick on my same account as the Roku 3. I have noticed that the stick is not as fast clicking around as with the Roku 3 with a processor. Overall the picture is good and I am happy with my purchase.
Bought 1 month ago to replace a Roku 2 that keeps freezing up. The remote quit working after 2 weeks. The stick would still function with the tablet app, just the remote quit. I had previously replaced the remote for the Roku 2. The Rolu system is good, but needs better quality control on the equipment.
I purchased a stick and at first it worked ok but as time went by it started to lockup. when the system locks up you have to reset the system which means you loose all your settings and have to start over. A few times I found the battery needs replacing, it should have some type of warning to stop the guess work on problem shooting.
We cut the cable cord a while ago but I missed having options. I researched streaming devices for several weeks before I settled of getting the Roku stick. So far, my family and I are enjoying it. I don't have all the channel options figured out yet, even after having it a month or so, but the possibilities are amazing. I have added almost a hundred channels so far and I find new ones to add every week or so. Even not having subscriptions to Netflix or Hulu, there are still movie/tv show options, though the subscriptions are worth getting. I give this a 4/5 stars, only because to say it is perfect before I've really gotten to know it well is not fair, as I've only had it a month.
