I got my Roku Stick a month ago and cut my cable bill down $70 amonth. IT is not perfect as there are somethings we cant watch that we used to use you want to pay for it but thats the only thing. Still cheaper then cable!
We bought the roku for our kitchen tv which does not have a cable box, now we can watch so many more stations and also watch movies that we missed or shows we want to catch up on. We can also move the roku from one tv to another and just plug it in. Love it.
It fills all of my TV watching needs and has never failed. The only thing I would like to see added is a way to browse the web for content I can't find on the other services.
My Wifi signal is gets 4 - 5 bars on my laptop, my I-pad and other devices from any location in my home, but my Roku streaming stick did not work in my master bedroom which is about 50 feet from my Wifi transmitter and where I receive 4 bars on my laptop. After much trouble shooting it was determined that the signal strength was too weak for the Roku stick. After installing a Wifi Signal repeater about 10 feet from the Roku stick the problem was solved and everything works great. In my opinion there is a deficiency in the Roku design when a 4 bar signal must be amplified to make it work.
I have the Roku 2 at my home. I bought the Roku stick for my 80 year old Mother. She liked the ability to have access to Crackle, Popcorn Flix and other such services. My daughter helped get her set up. I helped her get the services that she wanted to be able to see. She loves the Roku stick and it works just the same as the Roku 2. Roku products are fantastic. Services through Roku are increasing almost monthly. I have had my Roku 2 since November 2011 and I LOVE it. My Mom was impressed when I helped her get set up to view pictures and videos from her Facebook account. I also like the feature of having access to Picasa.
