Great! Content available is almost overwhelming

6 months in, am quite pleased. We have relatively slow broadband, just a notch above DSL and so far the only buffering occurs on some PBS Nature shows.
I guess the Roku 3 would eliminate that but I am quite satisfied with the stick.

Blows the Chrome cast away

I bought the Roku stick a few months ago to have access to the same features in our bedroom as we do in our living room with the Roku 3. I am amazed at how powerful the stick is. After being very disappointed with the chromecast, I was nervous buying another stick streaming player, but I couldn't be happier.

A bit slow

I purchased the Roku Stick because I saw it featured a Youtube channel and, at the time, my Roku 2 didn't have that option. However, because my house doesn't always have the strongest wifi signal strength, loading video content took forever and often needed to buffer, a problem I didn't have with my Roku 2. When my original Roku got the Youtube channel, I packed my Stick away for when I move. Or I might just buy the Roku 3. I'd recommend the Stick for those who have a strong Internet connection. It's a good price and much more subtle. It just didn't work well for my situation.

I'm very happy with the quality and compact design. Remote could use some improvements in function keys. Commands are not always intuitive. Could use a keypad for typing quicker searches.

I'm mixed on my Roku Streaming Stick. There are plenty of apps which makes finding something to watch very easy. My main complaint is the device becomes unresponsive at times. You pause a show or finish one and then it will just freeze in the app. The remote becomes entirely unresponsive and only the 'home' button works which brings you back to the main app list. Then from there you have to open whatever app you were in, then search for the show you had an issue with and resume/restart it. This can be quite annoying. In hindsight I should have purchased the Apple TV but I wanted something a little more descreet since this device is not visible when plugged in.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazingly simple to connect. Just plug into HDMI port and you're in business. The remote is also basic and simple to use. My only nitpick and reason for 4 star rather than 5 star review, is that there is no volume control on remote.
