We purchased this device and it was somewhat painful to setup due to the fact that it requires very specific security settings (lowered encryption) on the Wireless router it uses to connect to the internet. We have Comcast and it was a chore. Once it was configured, it has worked great and there are a lot of Free channel options to choose from. Great device once you get it connected to your wireless router.
I bought this for my son's room because it was the most inexpensive option. I like that it has no HDMI cable and that it is USB powered (with optional wall adapter also included). Now I move it around between bedrooms with ease to get instant access. Only feature I wish we're available is power via HDMI. Not sure that's even possible though.
I have had my Roku stick for a couple of months and can't tell you how much I love it. I gave up my cable and now only have to pay for my internet connection and Netflix subscription. Everything else I view is free.
I've been using the Roku streaming stick for about 2 months and I am pleased with it's performance. It takes about 5 minutes to sync up when you first turn it on, but other than there is very little wait time when, for example, loads up a movie.
I installed the stick several months ago and it works great. It was easy to install and has made shows, movies, etc; easy to access. All family membrs, including younger grandchildren, are thrilled what has been made available.
I canceled cable and switched to a couple internet tv options: play station apps and roku. Roku works just fine but there are obvious downfalls to Internet TV as a whole. Good device, great deal.
For the first few months this worked great. It replaced my PS3 as a streaming content device. Easier for the kids to manage as well. But starting last week, it randomly reboots itself. There is no rhyme or reason to when or why. 3 stars for that reason. Hoping Roku rolls a fix for this soon.
