most of the time the roku stick can connect with my routers, and when it does - the roku stick delivers everything as advertised. But sometimes it behaves as if there is tremendous interference (that my notebook computers do not experience), and when that happens - the roku is a very frustrating experience. The tools do diagnose the problem don't seem to exist.
This little streamer has saved me alot of money buy purchasing this.. I'm barely home and me and my family don't watch tv as much but when we are ready it's right on time, thank you Roku!! I've been telling friends and family about this product.
Installation was as easy as 1-2-3 and "Poof!" -- you're up and running! I enjoyed it for several weeks but I always left the unit plugged into the back of the TV and a terrible electric storm coming thru the area resulted in it being struck by lightning. TV not damages but the ROKU no longer worked. When replaced, I plan on removing from the TV when not in use. This damage WAS NOT the fault of the ROKU and I highly recommend for anyone wishing to use the Internet to provide TV programming/movies.
My Netflix, Amazon prime, Hulu plus, mls live, CNN, NBC, etc., all there at a push of a button! I absolutely love this little machine! Only reason I've kept my cable is because Comcast said I needed to keep at least some cable to have my internet, but in all honesty I use my Roku more than I do my cable. Only thing, I wish there was a true streaming news channel or a dedicated superhero channel so I didn't have to scroll so much. That's my only gripe.
Mine occasionally becomes unresponsive. I have to disconnect the power and 'reboot' it to get it going again. I guess I should have known, but it was a surprise to me that my Logitech universal remote wouldn't work with it. Probably should have gone with the Roku 2 or 3.
The only reason I bought this was so that I would be able to watch my Amazon Prime instant videos on my living room tv. I have an older smart tv with doesn't have the Amazon app. Well, I have 80 channels downloaded to my stick & use several on a regular basis. My kids love watching music videos from Vevo. They have also discovered some of the favorite shows with our Netflix subscription. I like being able to move this to different tv's in the house in a manner of minutes.
