Maybe it's just Hawaii.....but we tried and tried.....roku works good on only a small number of their channels and streams perfectly, but most are constantly reloading and buffering and interupting the watching....so after more than a week of trying roku we barely use it now....we just stream youtube or other www sites directly onto the phone, pad, or pc....no need roku.
I originally purchased a Roku HD because I had an older TV that I was planning to upgrade and it had a composite connection and HDMI so I could use it on the old TV and then on a new one. I ended up liking it so much that I would move the Roku back and forth from the living room TV to the other one in my bedroom. Then I bought a new TV with HDMI so I bought the stick so I didn't have to do the "moving thing". I can get so many channels with both of them that I might not even need my cable channels.
I bought Roku after I used it over a family member's home. I was so impressed with the ability and freedom that the system gave me. I love that I can stop and start a program as often as I wish. I pick out what I want to watch and there is not a lot of unnecessary television being played. I am able to freely travel , and come home to catch up what I missed while I was away. I love Roku!!!!!!
I bought this about month ago for I believe this is what Television is coming to and hope to lower my monthly dish cable cost. I work great but you do need a good internet service.
It isn't quite as snappy on the interface, and the remote doesn't have the audio jack, but otherwise this is a 1/2 off version of the gold standard streamer, the roku 3. Highly recommended.
