Had some problems

On one TV (a smaller VIZIO HDTV) it works perfectly and on second TV (a larger Sharp HDTV) it is hit or miss as to whether the Roku stick responds to the remote. Often it will quit working for a while, and then later it works fine. Needless to say it's very frustrating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am very happy that my wife and I bought the stick. It is easy to use and no one knows that it's in the back of the TV when we use it.

great accessory

I bought a roku. Since my daughter insisted I needed one. WOW! I love creating my own radio station and all the history and science features I can access. I can listen to the best sermons in different countries. And catch series I ha e missed.

bought this instead of having a nother tw box...only thing its far away from my router so sometimes...and I say sometimes music buffers...everything else exceent.

Great option for travel!

I have been living out of hotels for the last few months and the Roku stick is a great addition to my travel kit. It easily moves from TV to TV and room to room. USB ports are already on the back of most TVs so its pretty much completely self contained. Of course it all works exactly the same as any other Roku device.
There is one caveat. If your hotel has internet service that requires you to sign into via a web page, it wont work without a call to the hotels internet service provider. When calling you need to provide them the MAC address or the IP address of the Roku, which is easy to find on the Rokus "about" screen. Then it will work flawlessly. Not a big deal but not totally plug and play. I have been told by some of these IT people that the Roku is the only stick type streaming device that always works properly in this situation.
My suggestion/hope for Roku, is that they would add a web browser to the software which would eliminate any need for outside help.

We have had the Roku stick for several months now and it has worked so well for us. Before we used the Wii and then the ps3 for watching Netflix and then amazon..but this works so much better as it is intended to do so! Plus all the extra channels are fun!
