I've had my Roku for four months and I love it. It's made watching YouTube and Netflix so much easier on my tv. I bought a Roku after I could no longer use my iPad to play Netflix on my tv. My dad loves all the old cowboy apps we were able to get for free for my Roku. It was a really good investment.
I bought it. I love how the size of roku streaming. Make life easier BUT why not 5 star is because i noticed that the remote always slow response when try to click rewind or 10 sec back on netflix. Or kept say try again try again to get into netflix... it just being slow response. Need bug fix or update or something to make it smoother and quick response.
Thank you for the opportunity to chat about Roku devices: I have two [2] Roku devices....a Roku 2 device bought some time ago [date unk] and the stick Roku bought recently. I have not had a single issue with the Roku 2 but I seemed have continual problems with the stick Roku. In fact, it currently in a 'hungup' mode...that is, I can't get it to function at all. A Netflix screen is occasionally displayed but then it may just disappear. I have replace the batteries. So the net of it is I am not happy with the stick Roku, and, in fact, was just getting ready to call you about it. So my responses below will be skewed based on its current performance. Hopefully, someone there will be so kind as to call and let's discuss further. I do want a replacement but at this time I would not accept the stick Roku as a suitable one. replacement.
I bought mine two weeks ago and I love it. Works great except for a couple things. I don't like not having the "ok" button in the middle of the arrow keys a d while using Netflix to watch a tv series I noticed that when it automatically rolled to the next episode it would freeze about 3 mins in every time. Not good
I already have a Roku 2 and XD. We got the streaming stick for an easy portable player. Yes, you do still need to plug it in to electricity, but your tv is plugged in also, so not really a problem. We mostly use it for movies, classic tv shows and children's programming. It does everything that the "larger" Roku does. With the stick I can easily toss it in my purse when going to my grandson's house or for a trip out of town. As long as wifi is available, you are good to go!
