Lots of Content, Slow Hardware

When I purchased the Roku Streaming Stick I was excited. It was going to be better than my [similar product from another vendor]: more content, more apps, onscreen menu, etc. In hindsight, I would say it performs slightly worse (from my perception, anyways) in aspects such as buffering and image quality. Where it really lags behind is execution. The Roku Stick takes a good while to start and the menus take FOREVER to get anywhere. Casting a YouTube video from a browser works great, though. For that sole reason I kept it for use in the guest room. Until the hardware in the stick is improved I will have to pass on any more Roku Sticks. Perhaps the set-top boxes perform better, but I wanted an out-of-view device.
This is my 2nd one i've purchased for my tv's.I'm dellighted at the ease of operation & the many features that Are available.Especially love the remote that is included.Get it !!!!!!
I bought this for the living room. I have the Roku3 in the bedroom. The channels are there and even added the channels I had on the bedroom device. The quirks though are sometimes the remote doesn't respond, I'm not sure if it is because the stick in the the back of the tv or if it gets confused with the Roku 3 in another room. The other quirk is Netflix takes a very long time to load. Netflix is the only channel that does that; however, once it is loaded it runs great.
The price is affordable. The channels come through clearly. The wifi signal holds up well. So if a slow loading Netflix and sometimes remote troubles doesn't bother you, then you should get it.
Easy to set up, ready to use, wide range of channels, both free and paid! I originally got it just for WWE Network, but love the cooking shows and many other channels!
