I bought this for my room to avoid a cable box but most features are already on my smart tv so hooking it to my 12yr old flat screen non smart tv was like giving him a smart tv without the cost of a new tv he is in love with it from the apps to channels he always finds something to do

Never Had a Problem!

We've had our Roku streaming stick for about 6 months, and we've never had a problem with it! It does lag on some operations, but I'm talking like a max of 2 seconds of wait time, which compared to the Netflix feature in our Blu-ray player, is fantastic. I find the setup very intuitive. Although we bought it for the Netflix channel, I have found some of the other channels very useful for the occasional on-demand movie (I like Vudu) or random History Channel program. We were were out of town for about a month, and I forgot to unplug the Roku (it doesn't turn off except if unplugged), and it still worked perfectly upon our return and didn't make even a fraction of a noticeable difference on our energy bill. I also love the fact that you can use the Roku app as a remote, so I don't have to fish around for the remote if it's not readily available; I just pull out my phone. My only small complaint is that some of the channels have subscription fees, but I guess you can't really expect anything different, and it's not a deal breaker, especially for the low cost of the device. I have already recommended this device to several people.

Awesome load speed

I have had my roku streaming stick since they came out and I love it. I've had smart tv's and DVD players that would have netflix and hulu on them but they never would stream good. Now on the roku I have no problem watching either and I can watch my flixter movies plus a ton of other cool shows.

Only issue is it fits get hot with all day use. Will stop working. Only issue. Had it for three months and it had only happened 4 times.
