good media streamer for a decent price

Wanted one for the kitchen for the small TV there during lengthy cleaning tasks. A little slow responding to some menu options, but still a good streamer for the price. Would like a few more channels and hunting less for things like language courses, but still a good gadget.

Frustrating Experience

I bought my Roku in March 2014, and it's nothing but hit-or-miss. The device is plagued by connection drops with my router, despite a signal that it rates consistently as "good". Oddly enough, the connection to the remote is even less consistent. The Roku has been a disappointment mitigated only by certain system tweaks that I uncovered on the web. It's not a tool for anyone without a lot of patience and an understanding of home networking and video streaming.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought my Roku stick about three weeks ago. I am impressed so far. I love that you can use a tablet, smartphone or computer with the Roku. Very good deal.

Good but slow

The stick is sleek and very small and the new remote is amazing as you don't have to point and click any more. It works no matter how you hold it. However the system is a bit slower than the boxes. Netflix takes about 1-2 min to load completely as does hulu and amazon. And searching is also much slower than on our old Roku boxes. But even though I have the Roku 2 I still use the stick as my main TV source. We could all use a little patience anyways.

I was having issues with setup, called customer service approx 1am est. took about 20min on hold (stated it would take about this long). I spoke with a live person! He was very polite. He walked me thru the steps and at no time did he make me feel in a hurry!! I was impressed with this dying art of awesome service!
The product and price is great too. It's user friendly. I was very happy with everything. I recommended to my sister who has one now. Also, she is happy.
