I bought this about a month ago, easy set up, not issues. However it does require a credit card to set up, was no happy about that. Also there is a default video rental company that it forces you to set up an account with... My other media servers did not require.
I purchased this as a step in becoming a cable cutter. It worked fine on my primary TV but for some reason did not allow the Optical Audio In my sound bar to work. This was a deal beaker for the main TV so I moved it to an auxiliary TV in the bedroom. Works fine there.
This is my second Roku. The first is a box. I like this one better, just plugs into the back of the tv and you're done. I would have given 5 stars, but once in a while it has to be rebooted because it will just keep "re-buffering" over and over again. It also gets really hot sometimes and has to be removed to cool down. My roku box (the first one) also would randomly reboot itself. But the stick you have to reboot it yourself.
I just purchased my 2nd streaming stick for a family member. The product has a great selection of channels. It is easy to use. Setup is fairly quick but does take time to authenticate each channel that needs access to your cable/satellite provider and a lot of those channels seem not to work with Dish Network yet. I find the speed to be pretty on par with what I was used to with the Roku 2 XS. The remote is a bit cheap feeling especially with button presses but tends to warm up and feel better as months go by. If you are in the market for a Google Chromecast, I would seriously give this a look. Wish you could use the Roku 3 remote though. The headphone jack on the remote would be a nice bonus.
I love my Roku Streaming Slick use with my wide screen tv in my bedroom. It's so easy to use and off a great deal to make watch movies and so much more fun at a touch with a outstanding easy to use remote. From movies to Netflix and Vudu and much more. A great buy with fun and more fun watch tv. Smart is smart tv with Roku Streaming Stick(HDMI Version)
