We decided to stop paying the cable companies so much money. We chose to purchase the Roku and we love it! My father was over at the house and was watching ours and decided to go buy himself one.
We travel a lot and have a second home. I got this to be able to watch my favorite shows on the road and at our second home without having to pay for receivers on every TV. For that purpose, it works great. It would be amazing if I could get dishanywhere.com to work with it. Then I'd be truly able to view all my programs live or recorded and to watch the news which doesn't work well with Roku.
We've experienced one significant problem with it although there was a fairly easy but inconvenient fix. It doesn't work unless I hang something heavy on it like a watch. It doesn't "connect" properly...no signal...until I hang the watch on it. It's probably a problem with my device and I could have sent it back but it wasn't worth the hassle.
This is by far the best money I spent to save money. With ROKU I just need local TV programing. All the movies and documentaries are at my finger tip for way less cost than cable. No annoying commercials to deal with. All I can say is WOW! Thank all of you at ROKU. WI-FI on plug in ROKU and your all set.
I bought two sticks. The remote on one stopped working within a couple of weeks and the stick stopped working on the other. I consequently, have only one working complete set. Also keeps dropping the wifi. Wasn't impressed. Get the build quality fixed Roku.
If the product actually worked well then it should be a great product.
