I bought this for my parents so they would stop bugging me about connecting my ps3 to their tv so that they could watch netflix... the roku has been awesome. I wish I had got one for myself! It has a bunch of cool channels and is easy to set up and even easier to use.
Set up was easy enough. Plenty of channels available. Seems slower that original roku box. Remote control absolutely stinks. Unresponsive to touch, slow. When trying to go back or forward in Netflix it is extremely slow and unresponsive.
Decided on the streaming stick for another TV in our study. Works just fine, no major issues to speak of. However, I did find that on one occasion I had to reload my Netflix and Amazon sites to the stick again. I'm wondering if it has a 'volatile-memory', losing passwords, etc., after it's been shut off for a while. I have it plugged into a splitter device and connected to a switched outlet. Also, I've noticed it's somewhat slower to access my channels sometimes. Otherwise, a great device that works just fine.
This works amazingly for such a small and simple device. One drawback is it gets REALLY hot. Hot enough where it makes me nervous to have it plugged in while I'm away from the house. Boots up fast though, so I don't mind unplugging it when I leave and plugging it back in when I get home.
Loading is slow when USB is connected to TV. Alot faster when plugged in the wall but the cable that came with it is very short and I don't want it on 24/7 either. Also I do not like it showing as a wireless option for the world near me to see either.
