I am highly (and healthily) skeptical about new technology products. I was thinking about buying Chromecast, but the more I researched the more I thought that the Roku stick would be better for me. The clincher was the seperate remote, which means We didn't have to interrupt what we were doing on our Smartphone or computer to watch it. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this unit was to install and set up! I have spent hours upon hours in the past just trying to program a VCR. We had the Roku stick up and running, and were watching it literally 10 minutes after We took it out of the box. The selection of free programming is outstanding, and I like the option to purchase movies and programs on demand all in one place. I NEVER write reviews of products, but the Roku stick is so great it deserves a positive comment.
I had a chromecast, so I thought that I would experience the same. The roku goes above and beyond with choices and programming. I really, really love this way of watching TV
I bought 5 of this about 6 months ago and I still fairly happy with this devices. Extreme movies very fast and seen to be very consistent. The negative side that I found is that overheat and lately is causing to freeze. Not to happy about this part. I still think that is good for the price.
Great content with a full user interface and remote all inside a small stick ! If they could somehow speed up the UI I would give it 5 stars. It does exactly as advertised.
This little stick is simplicity itself! What a great idea and product. Have the Roku 3 downstairs on the 40" TV, and the stick on my 22" in the bedroom. Convenient, simple, small, and very affordable! It is an amazing little stick, love it!
I bought the Roku Streaming Stick for my second big-screen HDTV at home and absolutely love it! I already had a regular Roku for my other TV and enjoy it as well. The stick was less expensive, but gave me as much Roku functionality as I needed (i.e., everything except games & headphone capability, which I don't use on my regular Roku anyway). Plus, it's a lot less obtrusive -- just plugged it into one of the HDMI inputs on the back of the TV, and it worked perfectly. Video quality is also just as good as on the regular Roku!
This is the 3rd Roku I own. I have the original one I bought two years ago still works like a champ, the Roku 2 and since I upgraded to a flat screen the HDMI. I like the HDMI the best because I don't have to point at a box I can just point the remote to my TV and watch whatever we want. I feel like I have more variety of shows for my family than Cable especially with Hulu and Netflix and never going back.
